Description
Is This for You?
- You're building a serious long-travel rear suspension on your TJ or LJ and want a Pro Series rear long arm kit with a 5-inch wheelbase stretch for maximum rear suspension travel and articulation — the 5" stretch extends the rear wheelbase, allowing longer rear control arms that dramatically reduce suspension angles at lift height and increase rear axle travel beyond what a standard-length long arm kit can achieve.
- You want Currie Johnny Joints at the rear frame ends and GIIRO dual-durometer bushings at the axle ends on double-adjustable control arms — the Currie Johnny Joint provides 40° of unrestricted movement with Tough 88 urethane casing for shock absorption and NVH isolation; the GIIRO bushing at the axle end is maintenance-free, self-centering, and NVH-isolating. Double-adjustable arms allow precise pinion angle and anti-squat tuning.
- You understand this is a fabrication-level install requiring welding, a custom exhaust, a front CV driveshaft with SYE kit, and a D30 front truss — the rear frame brackets are weld-on, the 5" stretch and long arm geometry require a custom exhaust, and a front CV driveshaft with SYE kit is required. The Clayton D30 front truss is highly recommended. Aftermarket axles require sourcing a truss specific to your axle.
The Result
- Pro Series rear long arm upgrade kit with 5" wheelbase stretch — weld-on rear frame brackets, double-adjustable control arms, 4-link axle truss, and hardware. Maximum rear articulation and geometry correction for TJ/LJ builds.
- Currie Johnny Joints at frame ends (40°, Tough 88 urethane) + GIIRO dual-durometer bushings at axle ends — maintenance-free, NVH-isolating, self-centering. Lifetime warranty on all control arms.
- 5" wheelbase stretch — extends the rear wheelbase for longer control arms and greater rear suspension travel. Welding required. Custom exhaust required. Front CV driveshaft + SYE kit required.
The COR-4805302 is Clayton Off Road's Pro Series rear long arm upgrade kit with 5-inch wheelbase stretch for the 1997–2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ and LJ Unlimited. The 5" stretch extends the rear wheelbase, allowing the use of longer rear control arms that reduce suspension angles more aggressively than a standard-length long arm kit and increase rear axle travel for maximum off-road articulation. The kit includes weld-on rear frame brackets, double-adjustable control arms, a 4-link axle truss, and all hardware. The frame-end joints are Currie Johnny Joints — 40° of unrestricted movement with Tough 88 urethane casing for shock absorption and NVH isolation. The axle-end joints are GIIRO dual-durometer bushings — maintenance-free, self-centering, and NVH-isolating. The double-adjustable control arms allow precise geometry tuning for pinion angle and anti-squat. Installation requires welding the rear frame brackets to the TJ/LJ frame, fabricating a custom exhaust to clear the new suspension and stretch geometry, and installing a front CV-style driveshaft with SYE kit. The Clayton D30 front truss is highly recommended. Aftermarket axles require a truss compatible with your specific axle. Lifetime warranty on all control arms.

Verified Fitment (OFAS Standard)
✅ Fits 1997–2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ (2-Door) — All Trims — Rear Long Arm Upgrade Kit with 5" Stretch
✅ Fits 2004–2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ Unlimited (4-Door) — All Trims — Rear Long Arm Upgrade Kit with 5" Stretch
❌ Does NOT fit Jeep Wrangler JK (2007–2018) — different rear frame and suspension architecture
❌ Does NOT fit Jeep Wrangler JL (2018–2026) — different rear suspension architecture
❌ Welding required — not a bolt-in kit
❌ Custom exhaust required — factory exhaust not compatible with 5" stretch long arm geometry
❌ Front CV driveshaft + SYE kit required
Installation & Fabrication Notes
- Welding required. The rear frame brackets are weld-on — professional fabrication capability or access to a certified welder is required.
- Custom exhaust required. The 5" stretch and long arm rear geometry require a custom exhaust to clear the new suspension layout.
- Front CV-style driveshaft and SYE kit required. Source and install before driving after conversion.
- Install the 4-link axle truss to the rear axle before installing the control arms — the truss reinforces the rear axle tube at the control arm mount locations.
- Weld the rear frame brackets to the TJ/LJ frame at the correct locations per Clayton's installation instructions — verify bracket position and angle before final weld-out.
- Install the double-adjustable control arms and set initial length per Clayton's geometry specifications for your lift height and stretch configuration.
- Set pinion angle and anti-squat geometry with the vehicle at ride height after full installation.
- Rear alignment (toe, thrust angle) must be verified after installation.
- Torque all control arm hardware at ride height, not at full droop or compression.
- Install the Clayton D30 front truss (highly recommended) before finalizing the front suspension. Aftermarket axles require a truss specific to your axle.
Wheel & Tire Fitment
Compatible with standard TJ/LJ wheel and tire combinations. The 5" rear wheelbase stretch affects body clearance, fender clearance, and tire contact — verify body and fender clearance at full droop and full compression with your specific tire size after installation.
Engineering Question: Are you building a stretched TJ/LJ or adding this kit to an existing stretch build? The 5" rear wheelbase stretch affects body fitment, fender clearance, and rear driveshaft length — plan for body modifications and a custom rear driveshaft as part of the build. Also confirm you have a front CV driveshaft with SYE kit sourced, access to a certified welder, and a plan for the custom exhaust before ordering.
