Description
Is This for You?
- You're running 3–8" of lift on your JK and your short arm geometry is causing harsh ride quality, limited articulation, and accelerated wear on your control arm bushings — this front long arm upgrade kit replaces the short arm geometry with longer control arms and a three-piece crossmember, reducing suspension angles at lift height for a smoother ride, greater articulation, and longer component life.
- You're upgrading from a failing or underperforming long arm system and want Currie Johnny Joints at the frame ends and GIIRO bushings at the axle ends — the Currie Johnny Joint provides 40° of unrestricted movement with "Tough 88" urethane casing for shock absorption that heim joints can't match; the GIIRO dual-durometer bushing at the axle end is maintenance-free and NVH-isolating for on-road comfort.
- You want a front-half long arm kit that includes everything needed for the geometry conversion — crossmember, upper arms, and lower arms — this kit includes the three-piece crossmember and upper and lower adjustable control arms. A front CV-style driveshaft is required and sold separately. Year-specific exhaust modifications may be required — see installation notes below.
The Result
- Three-piece crossmember + upper and lower adjustable control arms — complete front-half long arm geometry conversion for JK builds running 3–8" of lift. Reduces suspension angles for smoother ride and greater articulation vs. short arm geometry at the same lift height.
- Currie Johnny Joints at frame ends — 40° of unrestricted movement, "Tough 88" urethane casing for shock absorption. GIIRO dual-durometer bushings at axle ends — maintenance-free, NVH-isolating, self-centering.
- Lifetime warranty on control arms. Front CV-style driveshaft required (sold separately). Year-specific exhaust modifications required on 2010–2018 models — see installation notes.
The COR-4808122 is Clayton Off Road's premium front long arm upgrade kit for the 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler JK, designed for builds running 3–8" of lift. The kit includes a three-piece crossmember and upper and lower adjustable control arms. The frame-end joints are Currie Johnny Joints — a 3-piece design with a steel ball, "Tough 88" urethane casing, and housing that provides 40° of unrestricted movement with the shock absorption and NVH isolation that heim joints cannot provide. The axle-end joints are GIIRO dual-durometer bushings — a softer outer durometer for NVH isolation and a stiffer inner core for lateral load resistance, maintenance-free and self-centering. The longer arm geometry reduces suspension angles at lift height compared to short arm geometry, resulting in a smoother on-road ride, greater off-road articulation, and reduced wear on related components. A front CV-style driveshaft is required for this conversion and is sold separately. Year-specific exhaust modifications are required on 2010–2018 models — see installation notes for details by model year. Lifetime warranty on control arms.

Verified Fitment (OFAS Standard)
✅ Fits 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler JK (2-Door and 4-Door) — All Trims — 3" to 8" Lift
❌ Does NOT fit Jeep Wrangler JL (2018–2026) — different front suspension architecture
❌ Does NOT fit Jeep Gladiator JT (2020–2026) — different front suspension architecture
❌ Does NOT fit Jeep Wrangler TJ/LJ (1997–2006) — different front suspension architecture
❌ Not recommended for lifts below 3" or above 8" — verify geometry correction requirements for your specific lift height
❌ Front CV-style driveshaft required — not included
Installation & Fabrication Notes
- Front CV-style driveshaft required on all model years — not included. Source and install before driving.
- 2007–2009 JK: No exhaust modifications required in most cases.
- 2010–2011 JK: Passenger side catalytic converter will need to be moved approximately 1" higher. JKS-8150 may be required for proper clearance depending on lift height and driveshaft type.
- 2012–2018 JK: Loop delete kit and spacer required — see related items. JKS-8150 may be required for proper clearance depending on lift height and driveshaft type.
- Front alignment (caster, camber, toe) must be set after full installation — do not drive without alignment after a long arm conversion.
- Torque all control arm hardware at ride height, not at full droop or compression.
- Verify driveshaft angle and U-joint operating angles after installation — a CV-style front driveshaft is required to handle the increased operating angles of the long arm geometry.
Wheel & Tire Fitment
Compatible with standard JK wheel and tire combinations at 3–8" of lift. Long arm geometry affects suspension travel and tire clearance — verify clearance at full droop and full compression with your specific tire size after installation.
Engineering Question: What is your JK model year and current lift height? The exhaust modification requirements differ by year: 2007–2009 typically require no exhaust work, 2010–2011 require moving the passenger cat ~1" higher, and 2012–2018 require a loop delete kit and spacer. Also confirm you have a front CV-style driveshaft sourced before ordering — this kit cannot be driven without one after installation.
