Description
Is This for You?
- You're bending or replacing the factory WJ drag link on the trail and want a bolt-in upgrade that won't flex under steering load — this bar is machined from 1-3/8" solid 7075-T651 aluminum and uses the OE WJ 24mm-1.5 thread pitch, so it bolts directly in place of the factory drag link with no modifications to the knuckle, pitman arm, or frame.
- You want a 100% bolt-in drag link replacement with left-hand/right-hand threading for length adjustment — the LH/RH thread configuration allows toe adjustment by rotating the bar without removing the end links, the same way a factory drag link adjuster works.
- You're upgrading your WJ steering system and want the drag link to match the strength of an upgraded tie rod — pairs directly with the Clayton WJ 7075 aluminum tie rod bar (COR-5206921) for a complete heavy-duty bolt-in steering upgrade on the WJ platform.
The Result
- 1-3/8" solid 7075-T651 aluminum bar — drilled and tapped for OE-style end links using the factory WJ 24mm-1.5 thread pitch. Bolt-in replacement for the factory drag link with no knuckle or frame modification.
- Left-hand/right-hand threaded — allows drag link length adjustment by rotating the bar, maintaining the OE adjustment method for toe correction.
- Pairs with COR-5206921 (WJ 7075 aluminum tie rod bar) for a complete heavy-duty bolt-in WJ steering upgrade. Made in the USA.
The COR-5206911 is Clayton Off Road's heavy-duty aluminum drag link bar for the 1999–2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ. The bar is machined from 1-3/8" solid 7075-T651 aluminum — the same aerospace-grade alloy used in the companion COR-5206921 tie rod bar — and is drilled and tapped to the OE WJ 24mm-1.5 thread pitch for direct compatibility with the factory drag link end links and pitman arm. The left-hand/right-hand thread configuration allows drag link length adjustment by rotating the bar body, maintaining the factory adjustment method without requiring the end links to be removed. Installation is 100% bolt-in: remove the factory drag link and install this bar in its place using the OE end links. No knuckle drilling, no pitman arm modification, no frame work required. The 7075-T651 alloy provides significantly higher tensile strength than the factory stamped steel drag link, resisting the bending and flex that causes factory WJ drag links to deform under trail load and high-steer inputs. Pairs with COR-5206921 for a complete heavy-duty bolt-in WJ steering upgrade. Made in the USA.

Verified Fitment (OFAS Standard)
✅ Fits 1999–2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ — All Trims — Heavy Duty Drag Link Bar, Bolt-In
❌ Does NOT fit Jeep Grand Cherokee ZJ (1993–1998) — different drag link thread spec and geometry
❌ Does NOT fit Jeep Grand Cherokee WK (2005–2010) — different front steering architecture
❌ Does NOT fit Jeep Wrangler TJ/LJ/JK/JL — different front steering geometry and thread spec
Installation & Fabrication Notes
- Remove the factory WJ drag link — retain the OE end links if reusing, or install new end links as required.
- Thread the OE end links onto the bar using the 24mm-1.5 thread — verify thread engagement depth meets minimum specification before installation.
- Adjust drag link length by rotating the bar body — the LH/RH thread configuration allows length adjustment without removing the end links.
- Set drag link length with the steering centered and the axle at ride height — verify steering wheel is centered after adjustment.
- Torque all end link hardware to OE specification at ride height.
- Front alignment (toe) must be verified after installation — adjust via bar rotation as needed.
- If pairing with COR-5206921 tie rod bar, install both bars before setting final alignment.
Wheel & Tire Fitment
Compatible with standard WJ wheel and tire combinations. Drag link length is adjustable via LH/RH thread rotation — verify steering center and toe alignment after installation with your specific tire size.
Engineering Question: Are you also upgrading the WJ tie rod at the same time? The COR-5206921 aluminum tie rod bar is the companion part for a complete heavy-duty bolt-in WJ steering upgrade — upgrading the drag link alone while leaving the factory stamped steel tie rod in place leaves the weakest link in the steering system unchanged. Also confirm your end links are in good condition before reusing them with this bar.
