The included 5/16" laser-cut drop bracket lowers the frame-side track bar mount, reducing the track bar angle at lift height and improving geometry. The bracket bolts to the OEM frame location for alignment, then must be fully welded for superior strength.
- You want a 2.5" forged Johnny Joint at the frame end and a GIIRO dual-durometer bushing at the axle end, with a double-shear bracket design that eliminates joint over-flex — the 2.5" forged Johnny Joint at the frame end provides high-articulation, low-friction movement. The GIIRO bushing at the axle end is maintenance-free and NVH-isolating. The double-shear drop bracket design puts the axle-end bolt in double shear, eliminating the risk of over-flexing the joint under lateral load.
- You understand this installation requires both drilling and welding — the factory axle hole must be drilled out for the 9/16" Grade 8 HD bolt, and the drop bracket must be fully welded to the frame after alignment — the 9/16" Grade 8 bolt and flanged tab require drilling the factory axle track bar mount hole. The drop bracket bolts to the OEM frame location for alignment only — it must be fully welded before use. Tack welds or bolt-only installation are not sufficient.

The COR-4500522 is Clayton Off Road's adjustable front track bar with drop bracket for the 1997–2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ and LJ Unlimited, designed for builds running 4–7" of lift. At 4–2026 of lift, the factory front track bar angle becomes steep enough that a standard adjustable track bar alone cannot adequately correct the geometry. The included 5/16" laser-cut drop bracket lowers the frame-side track bar mount, reducing the track bar angle at lift height and improving lateral suspension geometry. The bracket bolts to the OEM frame location for alignment purposes only — it must be fully welded before use. The double-shear bracket design puts the axle-end bolt in double shear, eliminating the risk of over-flexing the joint under lateral load. Installation & Fabrication Notes
- Drilling required: Drill out the factory front axle track bar mount hole to accept the 9/16" Grade 8 HD bolt per Clayton's installation instructions before installing the track bar.
- Welding required: The 5/16" drop bracket bolts to the OEM frame track bar mount location for alignment purposes only. The bracket must be fully welded to the frame before use — tack welds or bolt-only installation are not sufficient and will result in bracket failure.
- Install the drop bracket to the OEM frame location, verify alignment and position, then fully weld per Clayton's installation instructions.
- Install the 9/16" Grade 8 HD bolt and flanged tab in the drilled axle mount location.
- Install the adjustable track bar between the drop bracket and the axle mount.
- Set the track bar length with the vehicle at ride height and the front axle centered under the vehicle — adjust within the 31-1/8" to 32-3/16" center-to-center range until the axle is centered laterally.
- Torque all hardware to specification at ride height.
- Verify front axle centering and tire clearance after installation.
- After centering the front axle, verify steering wheel centering and have the front alignment checked.
Wheel & Tire Fitment
Compatible with standard TJ/LJ wheel and tire combinations at 4–7" of lift. Front track bar length and drop bracket position affect front axle centering, tire clearance, and steering wheel centering — verify equal clearance on both sides and steering wheel position after installation.
Engineering Question: What is your current lift height on the TJ or LJ? This track bar with drop bracket is designed for 4–7" of lift — if you're running less than 4", a standard adjustable track bar without a drop bracket is more appropriate. Also confirm you have access to a drill for the axle mount hole and a welder for the drop bracket — both are required for installation. After installation, have the front alignment checked.
