Description
Axiom Lifetime Warranty Wheel Bearing Hub Assembly | 1999–2004 Ford F-250 / F-350 Super Duty 4WD | Coarse Thread | ABS Sensor Included
The Axiom Lifetime Warranty Wheel Bearing Hub Assembly (SKU: AX515025) is a complete, sealed wheel bearing and hub assembly for 1999–2004 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty 4WD trucks with coarse-thread hub assemblies. A worn or failing wheel bearing causes vibration, humming or grinding noise, ABS fault codes, uneven tire wear, and in severe cases unsafe wheel movement under heavy towing and hauling loads. This complete hub assembly replaces the entire bearing and hub unit in a single installation — no bearing press required. Pre-installed ABS sensor for OEM-style plug-and-play connection. Precision-machined bearing surfaces. Corrosion-resistant housing. Sealed maintenance-free design. Backed by Axiom Supply lifetime warranty.
Verified Fitment (OFAS Standard)
- Ford F-250 Super Duty 4WD (Coarse Thread): 1999–2004
- Ford F-350 Super Duty 4WD SRW (Coarse Thread): 1999–2004
Does NOT fit: 2WD F-250/F-350 Super Duty — 2WD uses a solid front axle with a different hub configuration. Does not fit fine-thread hub applications — confirm your hub is coarse thread before ordering. Does not fit 2005 or newer Super Duty (different hub specification). Does not fit F-350 DRW (dual rear wheel) without confirming front hub specification. Does not fit F-150. Confirm 4WD and coarse-thread specification before ordering.
Coarse Thread vs. Fine Thread — Critical Confirmation
The 1999–2004 Ford Super Duty 4WD platform used both coarse-thread and fine-thread hub assemblies depending on production date and configuration. Installing the wrong thread type will prevent correct installation and can damage the spindle. Confirm your hub thread specification before ordering. If unsure, check your existing hub or consult your Ford dealer parts lookup using your VIN.

Symptoms of a Failing Wheel Bearing
- Humming, grinding, or rumbling noise that changes with vehicle speed
- Noise that increases or decreases when turning left or right (load shift)
- Vibration through the steering wheel or floorboard at highway speed
- ABS warning light or traction control fault codes
- Uneven or accelerated tire wear on the affected corner
- Detectable play or looseness in the wheel when checked by hand at 12 and 6 o'clock
Installation Notes
- Thread confirmation mandatory: Verify your hub is coarse thread before installation. Do not force a coarse-thread hub onto a fine-thread spindle — thread damage will require spindle replacement.
- 4WD confirmation: This hub assembly is for 4WD applications only. 2WD Super Duty uses a solid front axle with a different hub configuration — this assembly will not fit.
- Replace in pairs recommended: If one wheel bearing has failed, the opposite side has experienced the same mileage and load cycles. Replacing both sides simultaneously prevents a repeat repair within a short interval.
- ABS connector: Disconnect the ABS sensor connector before removing the old hub assembly. Inspect the connector and wiring harness for damage before installing the new unit. A damaged connector will cause ABS fault codes even with a new sensor.
- Axle nut torque — mandatory: Torque the axle nut to OEM specification for 1999–2004 Ford F-250/F-350 Super Duty (verify in Ford service manual). Do not estimate — undertorque allows hub movement and accelerated bearing wear; overtorque damages bearing preload.
- Wheel lug torque: Torque wheel lug nuts to OEM specification after installation. Re-torque after the first 50 miles.
- ABS code clearing: After installation, clear any stored ABS or traction control fault codes with a scan tool. Verify ABS system function before returning the vehicle to service.
Installation Warning
Do not install on 2WD Super Duty — incompatible hub configuration. Do not install on fine-thread applications — thread damage will require spindle replacement. Do not install on 2005 or newer Super Duty. Torque axle nut to OEM specification — do not estimate. Clear ABS fault codes after installation. Once installed, the assembly is non-returnable.
Engineering Question: Have you confirmed your F-250/F-350 is 4WD with a coarse-thread hub (not fine thread), and is your truck 1999–2004? To verify thread specification, check your existing hub or use your VIN in a Ford dealer parts lookup — coarse and fine thread hubs are not interchangeable and installing the wrong one will damage the spindle.
