Description
Axiom Stage 1 Leveling Kit | 1999–2006 Chevy Silverado / GMC Sierra 1500 6-Lug
The Axiom Stage 1 Leveling Kit (SKU: AXGM99STAGE1) is a complete front leveling kit engineered for 1999–2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 6-lug trucks (GMT800 torsion bar platform). The factory GM 1500 front end sits lower than the rear by design — this kit raises the front to eliminate factory rake, creating a level stance and improving clearance for larger tires. Engineered for the GMT800 torsion bar front suspension geometry. Corrosion-resistant components. Sold as a complete Stage 1 front leveling kit. Front-end alignment is required after installation. Confirm your truck is the 6-lug configuration before ordering.
Verified Fitment (OFAS Standard)
- Chevy Silverado 1500 6-Lug (Front): 1999–2006 (GMT800 torsion bar)
- GMC Sierra 1500 6-Lug (Front): 1999–2006 (GMT800 torsion bar)
Does NOT fit: 2007 or newer Silverado/Sierra 1500 (switched to coil spring front suspension — use AXGM07STAGE1 instead). Does not fit 4-lug Silverado/Sierra 1500 (different front suspension geometry). Does not fit 2500HD or 3500HD. Confirm 6-lug configuration before ordering.
GM 1500 Leveling Kit Platform Guide

What Stage 1 Includes
Complete Stage 1 leveling kit for GMT800 torsion bar trucks. Typical components include torsion key set and supporting hardware. Shock extensions (AXGMSE99) may be required depending on lift height — confirm shock travel after installation before finalizing your build.
Installation Notes
- Alignment mandatory: A full front-end alignment (caster, camber, toe) is required after installation. Do not drive the vehicle beyond a short test drive until aligned by a qualified alignment technician.
- 6-lug confirmation required: Confirm your 1999–2006 Silverado/Sierra 1500 is the 6-lug configuration before ordering. 4-lug models use different front suspension geometry and this kit will not fit.
- Shock extension check: After leveling, verify front shock travel at full droop. If shocks are topping out, shock extensions (AXGMSE99) are required. Install shock extensions at the same time as the leveling kit to avoid a second front-end disassembly.
- Tire clearance verification: If upsizing tires, verify clearance at full lock and full compression after installation before finalizing wheel and tire selection.
- Torque specs: Torque all hardware to OEM specification for 1999–2006 GM 1500 (verify in GM service manual or Axiom install sheet).
- Re-torque: Re-torque all hardware after the first 500 miles following installation.
Installation Warning
Do not install on 2007 or newer GM 1500 — coil spring front suspension is incompatible with this torsion bar leveling kit. Do not install on 4-lug models. Alignment is mandatory — do not drive without aligning. Verify shock travel after installation — topping out shocks require AXGMSE99 extensions. Once installed, the kit is non-returnable.
Engineering Question: Is your truck 1999–2006 6-lug GMT800 (not 4-lug and not 2007+ coil spring)? Confirm lug count and model year before ordering — the 4-lug and 6-lug 1500 use different front suspension geometry. Also confirm whether shock extensions (AXGMSE99) are needed for your lift height to avoid a second front-end disassembly.
