Description
Axiom Supply 2° Caster Shim Set | 4WD Only | 2005–2026 Ford F-250 / F-350 Super Duty (P221, P558 & P702)
The Axiom Supply 2° Caster Shim Set (SKU: AX3228) restores proper front-end caster geometry on 2005–2026 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty 4WD trucks after front leveling or lift installation. When the front suspension is raised, the solid front axle rotates rearward, reducing positive caster angle. Reduced caster causes steering wander, poor straight-line stability, and inconsistent return-to-center feel. These precision-machined shims install between the leaf spring and axle perch, rotating the axle forward to restore 2° of positive caster. High-strength metal construction with corrosion-resistant finish. Covers P221 (2005–2016), P558 (2017–2022), and P702 (2023–2026) Super Duty generations. 4WD only. Front-end alignment is mandatory after installation.
Verified Fitment (OFAS Standard)
- Ford F-250 Super Duty 4WD: 2005–2026 — P221, P558, and P702 generations
- Ford F-350 Super Duty 4WD: 2005–2026 — P221, P558, and P702 generations
Does NOT fit: 2WD Super Duty (no solid front axle leaf spring perch — different front suspension geometry). Does not fit F-450 or F-550. Does not fit 2004 or earlier Super Duty (different front axle geometry). Does not fit F-150 (independent front suspension — no leaf spring perch). Confirm 4WD and lift height before ordering.

When to Use Caster Shims
- After installing a front leveling kit or coil spacer that raises the front suspension
- When the truck wanders, pulls, or has poor straight-line stability after a front lift
- When an alignment technician cannot achieve factory caster spec after a lift
- As part of a complete front suspension lift system installation on 4WD Super Duty
Caster Correction Guide
- 1–2" front lift: Typically requires 1–2° of caster correction
- 2–3" front lift: Typically requires 2–3° of caster correction
- 3"+ front lift: May require more than 2° — verify with alignment technician before ordering
Installation Notes
- Alignment mandatory: Full front-end alignment (caster, camber, toe) is required after shim installation. Do not drive the vehicle until aligned by a qualified alignment technician.
- 4WD confirmation required: Caster shims install at the front axle leaf spring perch — 4WD solid front axle only. 2WD Super Duty uses a different front suspension configuration.
- Shim angle verification: Confirm 2° is the correct correction for your lift height before ordering. Installing an incorrect shim angle will not restore factory caster spec and may overcorrect.
- Torque specs: Torque U-bolt and axle perch hardware to OEM specification for 2005–2026 Ford F-250/F-350 front axle (verify in Ford service manual or Axiom Supply install sheet). Torque with suspension at ride height.
- Re-torque: Re-torque all U-bolt and perch hardware after the first 500 miles of driving following installation.
Installation Warning
Do not install on 2WD Super Duty — front suspension geometry is incompatible. Do not install without verifying 2° is the correct correction for your lift height — incorrect shim angle will not restore factory caster and may cause handling issues. Do not drive the vehicle until a full front-end alignment has been completed. Re-torque U-bolt hardware after break-in — loose U-bolts can allow axle rotation and sudden caster change. Once installed, the kit is non-returnable.
Engineering Question: What is your current front lift height, and have you confirmed 2° is the correct caster correction for your build? As a general guide: 1–2" lift = 1–2° correction, 2–3" lift = 2–3° correction, 3"+ may require more than 2°. Verify with your alignment technician before ordering to avoid overcorrection.
