Description
Axiom Heavy Duty Heim Joint | 5/8" x 5/8" | Right-Hand Thread | UTV Suspension & Steering
The Axiom Heavy Duty Heim Joint (SKU: JMXR10T-F1) is a high-strength spherical rod end (heim joint) for UTV suspension and steering linkage applications requiring a 5/8" shank diameter, 5/8" bore, and right-hand thread. Heim joints allow precise multi-axis articulation at suspension and steering pivot points — worn or damaged joints introduce play that causes steering wander, vibration, and accelerated wear on surrounding components. High-strength metal housing with corrosion-resistant finish. Smooth, consistent pivoting under high-load and high-impact off-road conditions. Sold individually — order the quantity required for your application.
Application (OFAS Standard)
Universal fit — compatible with any UTV suspension or steering linkage application requiring a 5/8" x 5/8" right-hand thread heim joint. Confirm all three dimensions before ordering.
Does NOT fit: Applications requiring left-hand thread — right-hand and left-hand heim joints are not interchangeable. Does not fit applications requiring a different shank diameter or bore size. Does not fit metric thread applications without confirming thread compatibility.
Technical Specifications
- SKU: JMXR10T-F1

- Bore Size: 5/8"
- Thread: Right-hand
- Housing: High-strength metal — corrosion-resistant finish
- Quantity: Single (sold individually)
- Weight: 1 lb

Symptoms of a Worn Heim Joint
- Steering wander or vague on-center feel
- Clunking or knocking from suspension or steering linkage over rough terrain
- Visible play or slop in the joint when checked by hand
- Uneven or accelerated tire wear
- Vibration through the steering wheel or chassis at speed
Installation Notes
- Thread direction confirmation required: Confirm the application requires right-hand thread before ordering. Right-hand and left-hand heim joints are not interchangeable — installing the wrong thread direction will not allow correct adjustment and can back out under load.
- Dimension confirmation: Verify shank diameter (5/8"), bore size (5/8"), and thread pitch match your application before installation. Incorrect dimensions will not fit correctly and can cause joint failure under load.
- Jam nut required: Heim joints must be secured with a jam nut after adjustment. Do not operate the vehicle without a properly torqued jam nut — the joint will back out under vibration and load.
- Torque specs: Torque heim joint shank and jam nut to manufacturer specification for your UTV suspension or steering system (verify in UTV service manual or aftermarket suspension manufacturer spec sheet).
- Inspection interval: Inspect heim joints for play, binding, or corrosion at regular service intervals. Off-road and high-impact applications accelerate wear — inspect more frequently than street applications. Replace immediately if play is detected.
- Grease fitting: If the joint includes a grease fitting, grease at installation and at regular service intervals per manufacturer recommendation.
Installation Warning
Do not install without confirming thread direction is right-hand — a left-hand thread joint installed in a right-hand application will back out under load and cause loss of steering or suspension control. Do not operate without a properly torqued jam nut. Replace immediately if play is detected — a failed heim joint in a steering or suspension application can cause loss of vehicle control. Once installed, the unit is non-returnable.
