Description
Axiom Supply Front Lower Bump Stop Kit | 2001–2010 Chevy Silverado / GMC Sierra 2500HD & 3500HD | Sold as Pair
The Axiom Supply Front Lower Bump Stop Kit (SKU: AXGM201426) is a heavy-duty replacement bump stop kit for the front lower control arm on 2001–2010 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD/3500HD and GMC Sierra 2500HD/3500HD trucks (GMT800 and GMT900 platforms). Bump stops limit suspension compression travel, preventing metal-to-metal contact between the control arm and frame during hard bottom-out events. Worn or collapsed factory bump stops allow the suspension to over-travel, causing harsh impacts, control arm damage, shock damage, and frame contact. These replacement bump stops restore correct compression limiting, absorb impact energy, and protect suspension and frame components under towing, hauling, and off-road loads. Sold as a pair (left and right). OEM-style direct-fit installation.
Verified Fitment (OFAS Standard)
- Chevy Silverado 2500HD (Front Lower): 2001–2010 (GMT800 and GMT900)
- Chevy Silverado 3500HD (Front Lower): 2001–2010 (GMT800 and GMT900)
- GMC Sierra 2500HD (Front Lower): 2001–2010 (GMT800 and GMT900)
- GMC Sierra 3500HD (Front Lower): 2001–2010 (GMT800 and GMT900)
Does NOT fit: 2011 or newer Silverado/Sierra HD (K2XX/T1XX — different front lower control arm bump stop configuration). Does not fit Silverado/Sierra 1500. Confirm model year and platform before ordering.

Symptoms of Worn or Collapsed Bump Stops
- Harsh clunking or banging from the front suspension during hard compression or off-road use
- Metal-to-metal contact sound at full suspension compression
- Visible cracking, tearing, or complete collapse of the bump stop material on inspection
- Control arm or frame contact marks indicating over-travel
Lifted Truck Note
On trucks running a leveling kit or front lift, factory-height bump stops may contact the control arm earlier in the suspension travel range, reducing usable suspension droop. If your truck is lifted and experiencing premature bump stop contact or reduced suspension travel, verify bump stop height is appropriate for your lift height before ordering.
Installation Notes
- Replace in pairs: Replace bump stops on both sides simultaneously. Mismatched bump stop condition between left and right will cause unequal compression limiting and inconsistent handling under load.
- Inspect control arm and frame: Before installing new bump stops, inspect the lower control arm and frame contact surface for deformation or damage from previous metal-to-metal contact. Damaged surfaces should be addressed before returning the vehicle to service.
- Pairing recommendation: Replace bump stops when installing leveling kits, lift kits, or new shocks to ensure correct compression travel at the new ride height.
- Torque specs: Torque bump stop mounting hardware to OEM specification for 2001–2010 GM 2500HD/3500HD (verify in GM service manual).
Installation Warning
Do not install on 2011 or newer GM HD trucks — K2XX/T1XX front lower control arm bump stop configuration is incompatible. Do not operate the vehicle with collapsed or missing bump stops — suspension over-travel will cause control arm, shock, and frame damage. Replace both sides simultaneously. Once installed, the kit is non-returnable.
Engineering Question: Is your truck stock height or lifted? On lifted GMT800/GMT900 trucks, factory-height bump stops may contact the control arm earlier in the travel range, reducing usable droop. Confirm your lift height and bump stop specification match before ordering to avoid premature contact.
