Description
The drag link your lifted Ram HD deserves.
Your OEM drag link was engineered for stock ride height. Lift the Ram 2–6 inches and that geometry breaks down — the drag link angle introduces flex, deflection, and bump steer that your hands fight all day long whether you're loaded or empty. The constant steering correction on the interstate. The front end that follows road crown instead of your input. The vague response that wasn't there before the lift went on.
The Apex Chassis KIT387-POL is the correction. A 1.75" solid 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum drag link with polished finish, ProLock high-misalignment joints, internal Flopper Stoppers, and a reversible stainless steel taper sleeve — built specifically for the 2014–2026 Ram 2500 and 2013–2026 Ram 3500 4WD platform at 2–6" of lift. Gas and 6.7L Cummins diesel.

Why 1.75" and not 2": The Ram front axle layout around the track bar drop bracket and differential housing has significantly tighter clearance tolerances during full steering lock cycles than the Ford platform. A 2" bar binds on a standard 2014+ Ram 2500/3500. The 1.75" spec is the correct diameter for this platform's geometry — and 7075-T6 delivers the structural rigidity to eliminate death wobble while retaining the flex memory to absorb trail impacts without permanently bending flat like mild steel.
The feature competitors don't mention — reversible stainless steel taper sleeve: On high-lift Ram setups, installers frequently perform a drag link flip at the pitman arm to correct geometry. A standard flip makes mounting a steering stabilizer impossible because the tapered hole points the wrong direction. The KIT387-POL comes with a straight-bored stabilizer hole and a reversible stainless steel taper sleeve — flip the link geometry at the pitman arm and the stabilizer mounts cleanly from either the top or bottom face without fabrication.

2013 year-split — critical: Ram updated the Ram 3500 to the radius-arm front suspension in 2013 — a full model year before the Ram 2500. This unit fits the 2013 Ram 3500 but will NOT fit a 2013 Ram 2500. If you have a 2013 Ram 2500, contact us for the correct unit.
⚠️ Ram 3500 DRW owners: This unit fits Ram 3500 SRW only. If your Ram 3500 is a dually, text (469) 407-7538 before ordering — a different SKU may be required.
⚠️ Rough Country Dual Stabilizer incompatibility: The KIT387-POL is NOT compatible with Rough Country dual steering stabilizer kits due to component interference with the drag link rod ends. Generic dual stabilizer brackets from other brands may require minor clearance modification — text us your setup before ordering.
⚠️ Minimum Engagement Mark: This unit features a laser-etched minimum thread engagement mark. If this line is exposed during adjustment, your lift geometry exceeds the standard link range and requires a dedicated steering flip setup. Contact us before ordering if your lift exceeds 6".
Supporting mod requirements:
- Lifts 2–4": Direct replacement. No additional hardware required beyond the unit.
- Lifts exceeding 4": Track bar relocation bracket strongly recommended. Verify pitman arm drop compatibility before ordering.
Before You Buy — Questions We Get Asked
Q: Will this fix death wobble on my Ram 2500 or Ram 3500 Cummins?
It eliminates the flex, joint slop, and adjusting sleeve rotation that heavily contribute to death wobble. The 1.75" 7075-T6 rod, ProLock system, and internal Flopper Stoppers remove the slop that allows wobble to develop. When paired with healthy ball joints, a solid track bar, and a proper alignment, it completely tightens up the front track. If your tie rod is also OEM, the KIT385-POL complete kit addresses both ends in one session with one alignment fee.
Q: What are the Flopper Stoppers and why do they matter?
Cheaper replacement links use external polyurethane blocks to keep the bar from rolling. Apex builds metal-to-metal bearing restrictors directly inside the forged steel housing — 27° of left/right steering travel with only 2° of front-to-back deflection. No wearable rubber parts. No external hardware to lose on the trail. The restriction is built into the structure, not bolted onto it.
Q: Can I flip this drag link on a high-clearance lift setup?
Yes — and this is one of the KIT387-POL's most important features. The straight-bored stabilizer hole and included reversible stainless steel taper sleeve allow you to flip the link geometry at the pitman arm without losing your steering stabilizer mounting point. No custom fabrication required. Most builders don't discover this problem until they're already mid-install — Apex engineered the solution before you need it.
Q: How hard is this install and what will I need?
Intermediate difficulty. Standard hand tools, a torque wrench, and a floor jack are required. A full front-end alignment — caster, camber, and toe — immediately after installation is mandatory. Do not drive at highway speeds until alignment is complete. The Apex installation sheet with full torque specs and cotter pin sequence ships with the unit. Budget one garage session for the swap and one same-day alignment appointment.
The Obsidian Take
The KIT387-POL is built for the Ram HD owner who lifted for capability and now needs the steering to match. The 1.75" 7075-T6 construction is the correct diameter for the Ram radius-arm platform's clearance envelope — not a compromise, a platform-specific engineering decision. The ProLock system physically locks alignment under maximum fifth-wheel towing weight and highway washboards. The internal Flopper Stoppers eliminate the front-to-back slop that cheaper links rely on rubber blocks to manage. The reversible taper sleeve solves the drag link flip stabilizer mounting problem before you encounter it. The polished finish reflects the standard of the build. At 21 lbs it's a direct swap — one alignment appointment and the wander and death wobble are resolved.
This unit is not for 2013 Ram 2500 owners — the radius-arm suspension update came one year later on the 2500 than the 3500 and this unit will not fit your geometry. It is not for Ram 3500 dually owners — text us and we'll confirm the correct SKU. It is not for builders running a Rough Country dual stabilizer — that combination has a hard interference conflict. And if the polished finish requires more upkeep than a working truck justifies, the KIT385-BLK complete kit in black powdercoat is the zero-maintenance alternative. If your tie rod is also OEM, the KIT385-POL complete master kit is the smarter purchase — both components corrected in one session with one alignment fee.
