Description
One kit. Both generations. One alignment fee. Done.
Ford rebuilt the Super Duty from the ground up in 2017 — fully boxed frame, redesigned front axle, updated steering geometry. What they didn't engineer for was 2–6" of lift and 37" tires. Raise a P558 or P702 Super Duty and the factory adjustment sleeves flex and deflect under lateral load, feeding the front-end wander and bump steer that lifted Super Duty owners know too well.
The Apex Chassis KIT375-BLK is the complete correction. A massive 2.125" solid aluminum tie rod paired with a matching 1.75" solid aluminum drag link — both P-generations covered, both components installed in one session, matched geometry, one alignment fee. Industrial black powdercoat finish. Zero-maintenance protection. Full system locked.

Why the diameter split matters: The tie rod runs knuckle-to-knuckle across the lower axle beam where lateral loading is highest — the 2.125" cross-section is one of the largest solid aluminum tracking diameters in the aftermarket segment and is sized specifically for that load. The drag link operates in the tighter space near the frame rail, sway bar mount, and track bar bracket. The 1.75" diameter delivers full structural rigidity while clearing those frame components through the complete compression cycle. Both diameters are platform-specific engineering decisions.

❌ This kit does NOT fit — read before ordering
| Vehicle | Reason | Correct SKU |
|---|---|---|
| 2005–2016 Ford F-250 / F-350 (P221 generation) | Different steering box position and drag link geometry | KIT374 series |
| Ford F-450 / F-550 | Wide-track commercial front axle — incompatible tracking widths | — |
| Ford Super Duty 2WD | Twin I-beam independent front suspension — no solid axle steering linkage | — |
| Ford F-150 (all years) | Different platform entirely | — |
| GM, Ram, Toyota trucks | Not compatible | — |
P221 vs P558 generation split — critical: Ford completely redesigned the Super Duty steering geometry between the 2016 and 2017 model years. A 2016 Super Duty is P221 generation — this kit will not align with your steering box output depth. If your truck is 2016 or earlier, stop here and see the KIT374 series.
Supporting mod requirements:
- Lifts 2–4": Direct bolt-on. No additional hardware required beyond the kit.
-
Lifts exceeding 4": A track bar relocation bracket is strongly recommended. Verify pitman arm drop compatibility before ordering — an aftermarket dropped pitman arm may be required. Text (469) 407-7538 with your lift brand and pitman arm setup before you order.
Before You Buy — Questions We Get Asked
Q: Why buy the complete kit instead of individual components?
The complete KIT375-BLK puts both steering components on the same material grade, the same joint capacity rating, and the same geometric plane — installed and dialed in one shop visit with one alignment fee. Phasing the work means two shop visits, two alignment charges, and an intermediate period of mismatched steering components. If you prefer to stage the work, KIT372-BLK (tie rod) and KIT373-BLK (drag link) are available individually. But the math on the master kit is straightforward.
Q: Does this fit my F-350 dually?
Yes — F-350 SRW and DRW are both fully confirmed across the entire P558 and P702 range. The only Super Duty trucks locked out are F-450 and F-550 wide-track commercial chassis with incompatible front axle tracking widths.
Q: What's the advantage of black powdercoat over polished aluminum?
Mechanically identical solid 7075-T6 bars. The industrial black powdercoat creates a physical barrier against road salt, winter brine, and moisture — eliminating the patina development and maintenance schedule that raw polished aluminum requires over time. For working trucks that see real conditions year-round, powdercoat is the zero-maintenance choice. If mirror finish is the priority, the KIT375-POL is the same kit in polished aluminum.
Q: How hard is this install and what will I need?
Intermediate difficulty. Standard hand tools, a torque wrench, and a floor jack are required. A full front-end alignment — caster, camber, and toe — immediately after installation is not optional. Do not drive at highway speeds until alignment is complete. The Apex installation sheet with torque specs and cotter pin sequence ships with the kit. Budget one garage session for the swap and one alignment appointment.
The Obsidian Take
The KIT375-BLK is built for the Super Duty owner running a 2–6" lift on a P558 or P702 truck who is done tolerating front-end wander, bump steer, and the alignment walk that comes with factory linkage under heavy tire packages. The 2.125" tie rod is one of the largest solid aluminum tracking components available for this platform. The 1.25" threaded shanks eliminate the deflection point that makes lifted Super Dutys push and wander. The ProLock system physically locks alignment under sustained towing load and highway washboards. The black powdercoat finish handles road salt and winter brine without a maintenance schedule — the right call for any F-250 or F-350 that earns its living in real conditions. One kit, one session, one alignment fee.
This kit is not for 2005–2016 P221 Super Dutys — the steering box geometry changed completely in 2017 and this kit will not fit your truck. See KIT374 series. It is not for F-450 or F-550 owners — the wide-track commercial front axle is a different animal entirely. And it is not for dedicated rock crawlers who will scrape steering bars against boulder faces regularly — that application belongs to the KIT375-STL in solid chromoly steel. If you're between the powdercoat and polished finish, or between aluminum and steel, text (469) 407-7538 before you add to cart and we'll put you in the right kit.
