Brand: Apex Chassis | SKU: KIT140-YesFlip | Configuration: 1-Ton Polished Aluminum Tie Rod + Drag Link | Geometry: High-Steer Flip (Over Knuckle) | Material: 1.5" Solid 7075-T6 Aluminum | Lift Range: 3.5–6"+ | Free Shipping | Affirm & Afterpay Available
You Flipped Your JK Knuckles. The Steering Kit Has to Match the Geometry.
A high-steer knuckle conversion on a Wrangler JK or JKU changes the geometry of the front steering track. Moving the drag link mounting point above the knuckle eliminates the bump steer and steering vagueness that standard geometry introduces at aggressive lift heights — but only if the steering linkage is built to work with that flipped position.
The Apex Chassis KIT140-YesFlip is the polished aluminum complete solution for JK and JKU builds running high-steer knuckle conversions. 1.5" solid 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum tie rod and drag link, over-knuckle flip geometry, 1-ton Ninja Joints™, integrated hex double-adjuster, and a mirror finish. The choice when the build standard applies underneath as much as it does on top — and the geometry has to be right.
The Obsidian Take
Two structural material options exist for the Apex JK high-steer flip lineup — solid 7075-T6 aluminum (this kit) and solid high-strength steel (KIT130-YesFlip). The KIT140-YesFlip is the polished aluminum version — engineered for the JK builder who committed to high-steer, wants the weight savings and mirror finish of aluminum, and needs the geometry to be engineered for the over-knuckle position rather than adapted from a stock-height setup.
The 1.5" solid 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum construction is the same alloy and diameter as the KIT150-NoFlip — the flip geometry changes the drag link mounting position, not the bar dimensions. 7075-T6 delivers the structural yield strength needed for a 1-ton joint rating at this diameter while providing the natural flex memory that allows the bars to absorb harsh trail vibration and spring back to their original tracking profile.
The 1-ton Ninja Joints™ are the defining feature. Standard aftermarket steering joints flex and deflect under the load of heavy lifted JK builds — the Ninja Joint's deep metal-to-metal bearing channels handle extreme articulation sweeps without binding, and the fully serviceable design means you rebuild the wear component rather than replacing the assembly. The ProLock™ system — machined keyway washers, dual-thread jam nuts with 3 integrated set screws — locks your alignment in place on both bars. The integrated hex double-adjuster sleeve on the tie rod lets your alignment tech set perfect toe metrics directly on the rack without disconnecting a joint from the knuckle.
The polished finish is raw, highly-buffed 7075-T6 aluminum — not chrome that flakes, not silver paint that chips. It handles the elements and reflects the build standard every time someone gets under the JK.
This is the flip kit. Engineered exclusively for JK and JKU builds with high-steer knuckle conversions — Dynatrac, RockJock, Synergy, and equivalent high-steer systems. Installing on OEM or standard knuckles without a high-steer conversion will produce incorrect drag link angle and unsafe steering geometry. For standard JK/JKU geometry, order KIT150-NoFlip.
Steel alternative: KIT130-YesFlip — same flip geometry in solid high-strength steel for rock crawling and direct boulder contact applications.
⚠️ CRITICAL COMPATIBILITY WARNINGS — Read Before Ordering:
3.5" Minimum Lift Required: Flip geometry above the knuckle strictly requires a minimum of 3.5" of suspension lift. At less than 3.5", the drag link will violently contact the passenger-side frame rail during compression. Do not order this kit for any build under 3.5" of lift.
High-Steer Knuckle Conversion Required: The KIT150-YesFlip is NOT compatible with OEM or standard aftermarket knuckles without a high-steer conversion. Installing on standard knuckles will result in incorrect drag link angle and unsafe steering geometry. For standard JK/JKU geometry, order KIT150-NoFlip.
17" Wheel / 4.75" Max Backspacing: Due to the 1-ton Ninja Joint™ housing profile, this kit requires a minimum 17" wheel diameter with 4.75" backspacing or less. Factory JK 17" wheels run approximately 6.25" backspacing and will not clear. Factory 16" wheels will not clear.
JK/JKU Platform Only: Does NOT fit 2018–2026 Jeep Wrangler JL/JLU. See KIT125-Dana44-YesFlip or KIT125-Dana30-YesFlip for JL/JLU flip kits. Does NOT fit Jeep Gladiator JT.

❌ This unit does NOT fit:
- OEM or standard knuckles without high-steer conversion — order KIT150-NoFlip
- 2018–2026 Jeep Wrangler JL / JLU — different steering geometry. See KIT125 series.
- Jeep Gladiator JT — JL platform, different geometry
- High-steer knuckle conversions on Dynatrac, RockJock, Synergy — only compatible if confirmed compatible with this kit's flip geometry
- Factory stock wheels — 6.25" backspacing causes inner rim contact with Ninja Joint™ housings
- Factory 16" wheels — will not clear

Before You Order — 4 Fitment Checkpoints
1. High-steer conversion confirmed: Your JK or JKU must have an operational high-steer knuckle conversion. Confirm your knuckle brand and model is compatible with this kit's flip geometry before ordering. Text us your knuckle brand if unsure.
2. Year and body style: 2007–2018 JK/JKU only. If your 2018 is the newer JL platform — see KIT125 series. TJ/LJ (2006 and earlier) requires a different unit.
3. Wheel specifications: Minimum 17" diameter with 4.75" or less backspacing. Factory JK 17" wheels at ~6.25" backspacing will contact the Ninja Joint™ housings. Low-offset aftermarket wheels or quality wheel spacers required.
4. Application match: Polished 7075-T6 aluminum is the right choice for trail, highway, and show builds where unsprung weight reduction and aesthetics matter. For dedicated rock crawling where the linkage will take direct hits against boulders — see KIT130-YesFlip steel.
Installation Notes
Advanced-level install. High-steer flip geometry requires understanding of how the drag link interfaces with the over-knuckle position — professional installation and alignment are not optional.
- Alignment mandatory: Full front-end alignment — caster, camber, and toe — required after installation. Do not drive until aligned.
- High-steer geometry: Confirm the drag link angle and sweep are correct for your specific high-steer knuckle brand and lift height before installation.
- Double-adjuster lockdown: Fully torque ProLock jam nuts to Apex specifications to lock the hex sleeve after alignment is finalized.
- Torque specs: Castellated nuts at knuckle and pitman arm — torque to 55–75 ft-lbs per Apex install sheet. Install all cotter pins.
- Caster correction: High-steer builds at aggressive lift heights frequently require caster correction. Verify post-installation.
Installation Warning: Installing on OEM or standard knuckles without a high-steer conversion will result in incorrect drag link angle and unsafe steering geometry. Installing on JL/JLU will result in geometry incompatibility. Do not drive until full alignment is complete. Once installed, non-returnable.
Questions We Get Asked
What's the difference between KIT150-YesFlip and KIT150-NoFlip? Same JK/JKU platform, same 1.5" solid 7075-T6 polished aluminum construction, same Ninja Joints™ and double-adjuster. The NoFlip mounts under the knuckle for standard geometry without a high-steer conversion. The YesFlip mounts over the knuckle for high-steer conversions. Installing the wrong geometry version produces unsafe drag link angles. Confirm your knuckle configuration before ordering.
What's the difference between KIT150-YesFlip and KIT130-YesFlip? Same JK/JKU flip geometry. The KIT150-YesFlip is 1.5" solid 7075-T6 polished aluminum — lightweight, mirror finish, natural flex memory, trail and show builds. The KIT130-YesFlip is solid high-strength steel — maximum direct impact resistance for rock crawling where the linkage contacts boulders. If your JK goes hard rock crawling and the linkage takes hits — steel. If it doesn't — polished aluminum.
Does this fit my 2018 Jeep Wrangler? Depends on which 2018. Fits 2018 JK and JKU with high-steer conversion only. The 2018 JL and JLU requires the KIT125 series. Confirm your 2018 is a JK/JKU body style before ordering.
Which high-steer brands is this compatible with? Dynatrac, RockJock, Synergy, and equivalent high-steer knuckle systems. Text us your specific knuckle brand, model, and lift height and we'll confirm compatibility before your order ships.
Do I need to drill my knuckle? Verify with your high-steer knuckle manufacturer. Some high-steer systems come pre-machined for an over-knuckle flip taper. Others require drilling the drag link mount to accept the taper sleeve. Confirm before installation.
