The Result

• Single loop: 43,500 lb MBS / 8,700 lb WLL — identical load rating to the 10" version, for vehicles up to 8,500 lbs GVW.
• Double loop: exceeds 70,000 lb MBS / exceeds 14,000 lb WLL — the 20" length allows the shackle to be looped twice through the connection point, effectively doubling the load path through the rope.
• HMPE Plasma rope core with woven polyester jacket, Fiber Lock coating, and whipped ends — 25–30% higher verified breaking strength than standard soft shackles, with WLL and MBS clearly marked.

The double-loop configuration works by routing the shackle through the connection point twice before closing the loop — this creates two parallel load paths through the HMPE core instead of one, which is why the MBS exceeds 70,000 lbs double-looped versus 43,500 lbs single. The 20" length is the minimum required to execute this configuration cleanly — the 10" version does not have sufficient length to double-loop without compromising the knot geometry. This makes the 20" version the more versatile field tool: it can be used as a standard single-loop shackle in light-duty recovery scenarios and reconfigured as a double-loop shackle when the load demands it, without carrying two separate shackles. The HMPE Plasma rope core has a higher strength-to-weight ratio than steel wire rope of equivalent diameter, does not corrode, and does not store kinetic energy under tension. At 10.5 oz, the 20" version weighs less than a steel screw pin shackle rated to a fraction of its single-loop MBS. The woven polyester jacket is whipped and coated with Fiber Lock resin, attached as close to the knot as possible — the knot is the highest-stress and highest-abrasion point in a soft shackle under load, and this design extends jacket coverage to that zone. WLL and MBS are marked directly on the shackle for field reference in both single and double-loop configurations.

Single vs. Double Loop — When to Use Each

• Single loop: Standard recovery rigging for vehicles up to 8,500 lbs GVW. Functions identically to the 10" version (00066) at 43,500 lb MBS.
• Double loop: Higher-load recovery scenarios where a single-loop shackle is undersized. Routes the shackle twice through the connection point, creating two parallel load paths and exceeding 70,000 lb MBS.
• The 20" length is required for double-loop configuration. The 10" version (00066) cannot be double-looped.

Usage Notes

• Inspect shackle before each use. Do not use a soft shackle with visible cuts, abrasion damage through the jacket to the core, or knot deformation.
• WLL and MBS are marked directly on the shackle — verify ratings in the field before use. Note that marked ratings reflect single-loop configuration; double-loop ratings exceed those values.
• Do not exceed the published WLL for the configuration in use (8,700 lbs single / 14,000+ lbs double).
• Keep shackle away from sharp edges under load — the jacket provides abrasion resistance but direct contact with sharp metal edges under tension will damage the core.
• Compatible with Closed System Winching® — verify all other rigging components in the system are also closed-link hardware before executing a closed system recovery.
• Store out of direct UV exposure when not in use.
