Description
Is This for You?
- You're on a 2007–2018 Silverado or Sierra 1500 — 2WD or 4WD — and want 6" of lift with Fox PS IFP 2.0 shocks included — the maximum lift available for this platform in a complete, geometry-corrected bolt-on system before fabrication-level modifications become necessary.
- You understand that 6" of lift on this platform requires more aggressive geometry correction than a 4" kit — CV axle angles, driveshaft angles, and UCA travel are all at or near their designed limits at 6", and every component in this kit is spec'd for that specific lift height, not adapted from a 4" configuration.
- You want Fox PS IFP 2.0 shocks front and rear with position-sensitive valving — on-road compliance and progressive compression resistance under off-road loading, without the aeration and fade that twin-tube shocks produce under repeated impacts at this travel range.
The Result
- 6" front and rear lift — 35" tire clearance with the included upper control arms, differential drop, and geometry correction hardware.
- Fox PS IFP 2.0 shocks front and rear — IFP eliminates aeration, position-sensitive valving delivers compliance on-road and progressive stiffening under compression off-road.
- Complete kit: UCAs, differential drop, brake line extensions, and all hardware included — geometry corrected specifically for 6" of lift, not a 4" kit with taller spacers.
At 6" of lift on the GMT900 and K2XX Silverado/Sierra 1500 platform, the CV axle operating angle on 4WD models approaches the outer limit of the factory CV joint's designed range. The differential drop hardware included in this kit is critical — it lowers the front differential to reduce the CV axle angle at the new ride height, extending CV joint service life and eliminating the vibration that an uncorrected CV angle produces under load. The upper control arms at 6" of lift must accommodate a greater range of travel than at 4" — the Cognito UCAs in this kit are engineered specifically for 6" geometry, not the same arms used in the 4" kit. The Fox PS IFP 2.0 shock uses an Internal Floating Piston to physically separate the oil and gas charges, eliminating aeration under aggressive cycling. The position-sensitive valving adds bypass ports at specific stroke positions: compliant initial stroke for on-road use, progressively stiffer rate approaching full compression to resist harsh bottom-out under high-speed off-road impacts. At 6" of lift with the increased suspension travel this kit provides, the position-sensitive tuning is more relevant than at 4" — the shock is cycling through a wider range of stroke positions under normal use, and the PS valving ensures the damping rate is appropriate at each point in that range. This kit covers both the GMT900 (2007–2013) and K2XX (2014–2018) platform generations across 2WD and 4WD configurations.

Installation Notes
- Upper control arms (included) are 6"-geometry specific and required. Do not substitute 4" UCAs — travel range and ball joint angles differ between lift heights.
- 4WD models: differential drop hardware (included) is mandatory at 6" of lift. CV axle angle without the drop will accelerate joint wear and produce driveline vibration.
- Brake line extensions (included) must be installed — factory lines do not have sufficient slack at 6" of lift.
- Full front-end alignment mandatory post-installation. UCA geometry change at 6" affects caster and camber more significantly than at 4".
- Torque all fasteners to Cognito specification. Re-torque all suspension fasteners at 500-mile break-in interval.
- Verify model year generation (GMT900 vs. K2XX) when reviewing installation documentation — component details may vary between generations.

Engineering Question: Are you on a 2007–2018 GMT900 or K2XX Silverado/Sierra 1500, running 2WD or 4WD, and have you confirmed your truck does not have factory MagneRide suspension? At 6" of lift, CV angle correction via the differential drop is mandatory on 4WD models — confirm your drivetrain and full suspension configuration before ordering.
