The Fox PS IFP 2.0 shock uses an Internal Floating Piston to physically separate the oil charge from the nitrogen gas charge inside the 2.0" monotube body. This eliminates aeration — the mixing of oil and gas that occurs in twin-tube shocks under aggressive cycling, which increases fluid temperature and degrades damping consistency. The position-sensitive (PS) valving adds bypass ports at specific points in the shock stroke: the initial stroke is tuned for on-road compliance, and the valving progressively stiffens as the shock approaches full compression, resisting harsh bottom-out under high-speed off-road impacts without sacrificing daily drivability. At 4" of lift on the Silverado/Sierra 1500 platform, upper control arm geometry is the critical variable — factory UCAs run out of travel and introduce bind at 4" of lift. The Cognito upper control arms included in this kit are engineered for the correct geometry at 4" lift, restoring proper caster and eliminating the bind that factory UCAs produce at this lift height. The differential drop hardware corrects the CV axle angle at 4" of lift on 4WD models, reducing CV joint stress and extending drivetrain service life.
