The Pintop system differs from a standard coilover installation in one critical way: the upper mount. A standard coilover installs into the factory coil bucket, which constrains the shock body diameter and requires boring on some platforms to clear larger shock bodies. The Carli Pintop replaces the factory upper coil perch with a machined billet pin-top mount — the shock installs via a pin through the upper mount rather than sitting in a coil bucket, eliminating the bucket geometry constraint entirely. This allows the King 2.5" Remote Reservoir shock body to install cleanly without modification to the factory spring perch. The King 2.5" Remote Reservoir shock provides more oil volume than a standard 2.0" unit, raising the thermal ceiling before fade onset under sustained towing and hauling loads on the Cummins platform. Carli's valving specification for this system is mapped to the spring rate curve of the included front coil springs and calibrated for Cummins diesel front axle weight — running this system on a gas-engine Ram 2500 will produce an oversprung front end. The 2014–2022 application window covers the DJ/D2 platform Ram 2500; the 2023+ Ram 2500 moved to a revised platform architecture and is not covered by this SKU.

Installation Notes

• Extended brake lines must be installed with the front shocks — factory lines do not have sufficient slack at full droop with the new lift height.
• Adjustable track bar: set bar length to center axle under chassis before final torque. Re-torque at 500-mile break-in interval.
• Torque all fasteners to Carli specification. Re-torque all suspension fasteners at 500-mile break-in interval.
