The Internal Floating Piston (IFP) design physically separates the oil charge from the nitrogen gas charge inside the shock body. On a conventional monotube or twin-tube shock, aggressive cycling β repeated hard hits, sustained high-speed off-road, or long towing runs β causes oil and gas to mix, increasing fluid temperature and degrading damping consistency. The IFP eliminates that failure mode entirely. The 2.0" anodized aluminum body increases oil volume over a standard 1.5" shock, which directly extends the thermal ceiling before fade onset. The 5/8" hardened, chrome-plated shaft resists side-load deflection under the elevated unsprung weight of a diesel Super Duty β critical on a platform where front axle weight alone exceeds most half-ton curb weights. FSP valving on the rears is not a generic "heavy duty" tune β it is specifically mapped to the spring rate curve of Carli's progressive rear leaf packs. Running this shock against non-Carli rear springs will produce an unbalanced damping ratio and degrade both on-road compliance and off-road body control.

Installation Notes
- Requires Carli leveling springs front and rear. Extended shock length will bottom out or overextend on stock spring height.
- FSP rear valving is optimized for Carli progressive rear leaf packs. Non-Carli rear springs will produce unbalanced damping.
- 2017+ models: verify brake line slack at full droop before finalizing installation. Carli extended brake lines recommended.
