Description
Is This for You?
- You're running a Clayton Off Road long arm system on your 1999–2004 Grand Cherokee WJ and your transfer case has zero armor between it and the trail. This is the complete kit — skid plate and hardware — ready to mount.
- You want the full assembly in one order without sourcing the skid plate and hardware separately. COR-4106110 includes both COR-4106112 (skid plate) and COR-4106111 (hardware kit) together.
- You're building a WJ that will see technical terrain and you need structural undercarriage protection that integrates with Clayton's long arm architecture. This is not a universal skid — it's engineered for Clayton's specific rail geometry.
The Result
- 1/4" steel plate transfer case skid with complete Grade 8 hardware included — everything required to mount, nothing sold separately.
- Designed to integrate with Clayton's redesigned unibody rails (COR-2206210) and 3-piece long arm cross member (COR-2106110) — the skid plate serves as the alignment jig when positioning rails before reweld.
- Shipped bare metal — coat or paint to your spec before installation to prevent surface oxidation in undercarriage environments.
The COR-4106110 is Clayton Off Road's complete transfer case skid plate assembly for the WJ platform. The 1/4" plate is purpose-built for Clayton's long arm suspension architecture — it is not compatible with stock setups, old-style cross members, or 2" tall unibody rails. The mounting geometry requires unibody rails spaced exactly 39.25" apart with through-drilled mounting points. Clayton's recommended procedure is to use the skid plate itself as the alignment template when positioning the rails, then reweld. The cross member (COR-2106110) and unibody rails (COR-2206210) are sold separately if you don't already have them as part of a Clayton long arm system. Bare metal finish means the plate ships without coating — surface rust or cosmetic marks from transit are expected and do not affect structural performance. If cosmetic condition is a concern, contact OFAS for freight/pallet shipping options before ordering.

Installation & Fabrication Notes
- Unibody rails must be spaced exactly 39.25" apart before drilling.
- Use the COR-4106112 skid plate as the alignment jig when positioning rails — weld rails after confirming alignment with skid plate in place.
- Old-style unibody rails are not compatible — upgrade to COR-2206210 if not already on the new rail design.
- Cross member COR-2106110 must be installed before skid plate fitment.
- Torque 3/8"-16 Grade 8 hex cap screws to 35–40 ft-lbs dry — verify against Clayton's published installation documentation.
- Nylon insert lock nuts are single-use — do not reuse once removed.
- Bare metal finish: Apply primer and topcoat before installation to prevent surface rust. Cosmetic marks from shipping (surface rust, scratches) are expected and do not affect structural performance.
- Verify exhaust routing clears the skid plate before final installation.

Wheel & Tire Fitment
No direct wheel or tire fitment restriction for this skid plate kit. Verify that your lift height and tire size do not create clearance conflicts with the skid plate's undercarriage position. Consult Clayton Off Road fitment documentation for your specific long arm configuration.
Engineering Question: Are you running Clayton Off Road's current-generation unibody rails (COR-2206210) with the 3-piece long arm cross member (COR-2106110)? This kit will not fit old-style rails, a stock WJ setup, or any non-Clayton long arm configuration. Confirm your suspension build before ordering.
