The Grade 8 bolt (ANSI B1.1 UNF Class 2B thread) is paired with two hardened washers and an all-metal top-lock nut rated IFI-100/107 Grade C — the all-metal equivalent of a Grade 8 fastener. The top-lock nut uses a deformed thread section at the crown to create two to three locking zones that engage under wrench torque, not hand pressure. This design maintains clamp load under vibration and thermal cycling where nylon insert locknuts lose retention. The 4.5" grip length is 0.5" longer than the COR-1100120 kit — used in applications where a thicker bracket, bushing housing, or washer stack requires additional bolt length to achieve proper thread engagement beyond the locknut. Installation & Fabrication Notes
- Top-Lock Nut Warning: This nut will NOT thread on by hand to final position. Start threads by hand to confirm engagement, then drive to torque with a calibrated wrench.
- Torque to 204 ft-lbs using a calibrated torque wrench. Do not impact-gun to final torque.
- Install with one washer under the bolt head and one washer under the nut.
- Verify the 4.5" grip length is correct for your specific pivot stack-up — if the bolt bottoms out before the nut reaches the locking zone, the grip length is too long; if thread engagement is insufficient, the grip length is too short.
- Zinc plating is not a substitute for anti-seize in high-corrosion environments — apply anti-seize to threads if operating in salt, mud, or submerged conditions.
- All-metal locknuts are single-use by IFI specification — replace if removed; do not reuse a previously torqued top-lock nut.

If your stack-up measures closer to 4.0", order COR-1100120 instead.
