Description
Is This for You?
- You're building a 3.5" lift on your JK and want a front spring rated for the V6's actual front axle weight — this spring is engineered specifically for the 3.6L and 3.8L V6 front end load, not a generic rate that under- or over-supports your platform.
- You've added a steel front bumper, winch, or skid plates and your JK's front end is sagging below ride height — the 188 lb/in rate at 19.375" free length is calibrated to restore and hold 3.5" of lift under accessory load without over-stiffening the front axle.
- You want a taller free length design that delivers lift through spring travel, not rate — Clayton's approach increases free length rather than spring rate, keeping the front axle compliant on trail and comfortable on pavement.
The Result
- 188 lb/in spring rate at 19.375" free length — delivers 3.5" of front lift with load capacity for aftermarket bumpers, winches, and trail gear on V6 JK builds.
- Taller free length design increases capacity without raising spring rate — maintains a controlled, compliant ride on pavement and full axle articulation on trail.
- Black powder coat finish and USA manufacture — corrosion-resistant, individually labeled, packaged in heavy-duty bags for clean installation.
Clayton's COR-1508350 front coil springs are engineered for the 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler JK platform with the 3.6L or 3.8L V6 engine. The 188 lb/in spring rate is calibrated for the V6's front axle weight distribution and the added unsprung load common in built JK rigs — aftermarket steel bumpers, winches, and recovery gear that push OEM springs into sag or coil bind. The 19.375" free length provides 3.5" of front lift through increased spring travel rather than a stiffer rate, which preserves ride quality on road and allows the front axle to articulate fully on trail without spring separation. Springs are rated and valved for the V6 front end weight — engine swaps (Hemi, diesel) add significant front axle mass and will result in the spring sitting lower than the advertised 3.5" lift height. Each spring is powder coated black for corrosion resistance and individually labeled with the part number. Sold as a pair. Made in the USA.

Verified Fitment (OFAS Standard)
✅ Fits 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler JK (2-Door) — 3.6L V6 GAS, 3.8L V6 GAS — Front, 3.5" Lift
✅ Fits 2007–2018 Jeep Wrangler JKU (4-Door Unlimited) — 3.6L V6 GAS, 3.8L V6 GAS — Front, 3.5" Lift
❌ Does NOT fit JK models with engine swaps (Hemi, diesel) — increased front axle weight will result in lower-than-advertised ride height
❌ Does NOT fit 2018–2026 Jeep Wrangler JL — different spring perch diameter and free length spec
❌ Does NOT fit 2020–2026 Jeep Gladiator JT — different front suspension geometry
❌ Does NOT fit rear spring positions
Installation & Fabrication Notes
- Front coil spring replacement requires a spring compressor — do not attempt without proper spring compression tools.
- Disconnect front sway bar end links before removing OEM springs to allow full droop for safe spring removal.
- Verify upper and lower spring perch isolators before installation — replace worn isolators to prevent spring noise and premature wear.
- After installation, perform a front-end alignment — caster and camber will shift with ride height change. Caster correction may require adjustable control arms on 3.5" lifts.
- At 3.5" of lift, front CV axle angles on JK will approach or exceed OEM design limits — verify CV axle condition and consider heavy-duty replacement axles if running aggressive off-road use.
- Torque all suspension fasteners to OEM specification after installation with vehicle at ride height.
Wheel & Tire Fitment
Compatible with standard JK wheel and tire combinations up to 35" tires on a 3.5" lift with no additional modifications. Running 37" tires at 3.5" lift typically requires fender trimming and may require additional suspension geometry correction. No load range restriction imposed by this spring set.
Engineering Question: Have you performed an engine swap on your JK (Hemi, diesel, or other non-V6 powerplant)? If yes, this spring is not rated for your front axle weight — the increased engine mass will cause the front end to sit lower than 3.5". Confirm your engine is the factory 3.6L or 3.8L V6 before ordering.
